Sophie Li (click to visit her blog) is just plain awesomesauce!! (That is her word and I LOVE it!) She is so sweet and so generous with her time, and seems to go out of her way to make everyone she comes into contact with feel special. I wish I could give her an award back, but of course, she already has them all, and deservedly so. Thank you Sophie for my first award!!
"The Versatile Blogger Award" Rules:
1. Thank and link to the person who nominated you.
2. Share seven random facts about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to 5 new-found blogging buddies.
4. Contact those buddies to congratulate them.
I am awarding the following:
These blogs are awesome, so go check them out!!
And now for my 7 random facts ...
1. I really do love to sing in the shower - and I do not say that for effect. I lock my bedroom door so my family cannot stand at the bathroom door and listen to me singing. And then I lock the bathroom door in case they think they’re funny and they pick the bedroom lock. I have a bottle of face soap that makes the perfect microphone and I race to wash up so I can use the rest of the hot water for my performance. Last night I sang Linda Ronstadt’s Greatest Hits and tonight I’ll probably sing Pink. Don’t knock it ‘til you try it!
2. One Halloween when I was 8 years old, my mom was late coming home from work. She was going to throw together a costume when she got there and take me out to trick-or-treat, but it was getting dark out and all my friends were ready to go. Not to be left behind, I decided to find my own costume and not wait for her. I went into my mother’s drawer and found a silk leopard print nightgown with slits up the sides. I tied it so that it wasn’t too long and then found her knee high black high-heeled boots. I could barely walk as I made my way to each neighbor’s house. When they asked me what I was dressed up as, I promptly told each and every one of them, “A hooker.” I don’t think I knew what they were but I wasn’t allowed to trick-or-treat for three years in a row after that.
3. I have: 4 half-brothers, 1 half-sister, 2 step-brothers, 1 step-sister, 5 brother-in-laws and 2 sister-in-laws…but I was raised as an only child.
4. I was a volunteer firefighter for San Diego County was I was 20. I got to drive a fire truck, got thrown into the air from the pressure from a hose, had my own uniform and when we went to train in “rattlesnake country”, I fell with my hose pack on, couldn’t get up to save my life and quit. Fire I was okay with. I don’t like snakes.
5. I do not fly. Ever. If you offered me an all expenses paid trip to Hawaii where James McAvoy was going to personally hand me a check for $1 million, I would not go. That’s not true. That is the only time I would fly.
6. I love pumpkins and fall!! I am obsessed with pumpkin spice and mulled cider candles, I love when the leaves change colors, the crisp air rustling my hair and the holidays that begin with that season.
7. I won $5000 on the radio once. I thought I was only going to win $100 but when I called in, the DJ said every once in a while someone wins $5k and today it was me. I stayed perfectly calm while on the radio and the moment I hung up I began screaming. No one could understand me when I tried to tell them.
Thank you so much again Sophie and to my fellow award winners - enjoy!!
